Common Induction Standards
Introduction
This programme is flexible to suit individual needs. It consists of 5 training days covering the national Social Care induction standards. The programme ensures a consistent approach to everything social care workers need to understand within the first twelve weeks of employment.Employers can add to these induction standards to make them specific to their organisation and service user needs.
Structure of the Programme
There are six mandatory units in the induction standards:
- Understand the principles of care
- Understand the organisation and the role of the worker
- Maintain safety at work
- Communicate effectively
- Recognise and respond to abuse and neglect
- Develop as a worker
Programme Design
Option 1
Flexible - dependent on the needs of the employer but programme usually delivered over 5 days (10 - 4pm).
Option 2
Trainers toolkit & learner portfolio/s - purchased to deliver in-house, new recruit after new recruit
Option 3
Purchase of trainer toolkit & learner portfolio/s, together with a 1/2 day support session to mentor on the delivery of Common Induction Standards
Option 4
Register your new employee/s to conduct their Common Induction Standards online, they can log in 24 hours a day when it suits them wherever they have internet access.
All 4 options provide the evidence of completion through certificates of achievement
